Male Frilly Deimatic Display

Deimatic display of a large male frilled dragon (Chlamydosaurus kingii). Last night I saw him sleeping peacefully near where I found him the first time. Hopefully he and the other frillies will fatten up once the monsoon rains bring out all the insects. Frillies seem to be triggered by eyes. When I take morph and spec data I try to not turn my head rapidly back towards them because they flare up. They also direct their displays at the external flash mounted on my camera.

Handled with appropriate permits for scientific study; photographed after capture [5]
