So far I have seen three species in the genus Cacatua in Australia. The largest of the three is the famous sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) – post coming soon about a cool behavior – followed by the long-billed corella (Cacatua tenuirostris) which have a much more pronouced and curved beak. The little corella (Cacatua sanguinea) is the smallest and cutest of the three, with blue coloration surrounding the eye with adjacent blush-like pink marks. Little corellas enjoy playing, and are especially inquisitive of the ways they can cling to and move around on surfaces. They are known to slide down roofs, hang upside down, and interact frequently with other little corellas.
