Hercules Robber Fly

Australia certainly has large insects, and this is certainly the largest robber fly I’ve ever seen in my life. This red and gray Hercules robber fly (Asilidae: Neoaratus hercules) landed on a tree a few meters in front of me, happily cannibalizing a more normal-sized robber fly.
