Agile Wallabies

Agile wallabies (Macropus agilis) are common around my house here in the Top End. Usually they don’t let me get very close so I just see them bounding away. Same goes in the forest, both in the day and at night. Yesterday was the first time I saw two adults, almost twice the size of the wallabies I see every day. They were a bit more bold and seemed more focused on snacking on the tall grasses, so I was able to get within range for some photos.

Photographed in situ [1] unless otherwise stated

In the forest I always hear wallabies jumping away from a distance. Rarely do I get a good look at them; photographed after pursuit [3]
