Times are changing as the wet season continues. Black whip snakes (Elapidae: Demansia sp.) are out and about, scouring the woodlands for two-lined dragons (Diporiphora bilineata). Such an agile species with bursts of rapidity. I certainly would not want to be a small dragon around these guys. This inquisitive one gave me a few seconds to snap a photo before vanishing into the tall grasses. A bit chunky for a whip snake, it likely had just devoured a lizard.
