Young Blue Insular Pit Viper

A young blue morph insular pit viper (Trimeresurus insularis) chooses a prime ambush position just 15 centimeters off the ground. The conspicuous red tail was made into the shape of a hook and draped limply over the branch, ready to entice lizards that wander by.
