Banded Forest Skink

We saw hundreds of banded forest skinks (Sphenomorphus cf. melanopogon) on Komodo, Rinca, & Padar islands. In situ shots of small flighty lizards is usually a challenge, but I was happy to photograph this species in lots of cool poses due to their sheer abundance. The faces of these skinks are cartoon-like, with large eyes, a short snout, and a round face. It was heartwarming to have their cute faces peering out at me at all times.
