Happy World Snake Day! Here is a lovely water python (Liasis fuscus) from Fogg Dam. Water pythons were by far the most abundant species during my stay in the Northern Territory, and contrary to what everyone says about their docile nature when handled, I really don’t find them as relaxed as many other Australian pythons. When spotted they mostly flee or freeze in place, but this feisty one put up its defensive display as soon as I got out of my car.
