Happy World Lizard Day! and what better animal to represent than a beloved frilly (Chlamydosaurus kingii). I had been trying to get a photo of the frill catching the rays of the sun from behind, but on this day it was a bit too overcast. Nevertheless I really like the perspective of this shot looking up into the eucalypt forest canopy. I remember this guy very fondly. He had a scar on the left side of his mouth and eye likely from combat with another male, and he ended up biting my lens during this photo shoot. I hope he’s managing ok right now in the dry season.
