Frilly Research Feature in Aus Geo

frilly_feature.jpg
My work on frillneck lizard behavioural ecology was featured on Australian Geographic in their latest issue. Read about why these lizards have evolved such an exceedingly rare structure among squamates, and get your copy here.

The above image is of a female frilly “f49” I found sleeping 2.5 meters up a vertical eucalypt in the flooded savanna woodlands in the NT. She had the most intact and beautiful frill of them all, and certainly knew how to use it!

Note: Caught with appropriate permits for scientific study; photographed when released [5]

12/17/2019: Study published in BioLinnean, my first paper! (download)
