Impatiens Sphinx Moth

Impatiens sphinx moth larva (Theretra oldenlandiae) munching away. Adults of this species are small with about a 6cm wingspan, and they are abundant in the eucalypt forest where I work. Patches of understory vegetation reveal pockets of insect diversity as well as the nocturnal frogs that seek a crunchy or squishy meal.

Photographed in situ [1]
