While we were enjoying some great seafood a California sea lion (Zalophus californianus) swam close to the dock around some pacific sea nettles (Chrysaora fuscescens). Though common, this was my first time seeing a sea lion in the wild. Unlike seals, sea lions can walk on all fours and seem much more coordinating when clambering up rocks.
